Following the shift of its Delhi-Tokyo flights from Narita Airport to Haneda Airport, Air India announced it will increase its flights to the capital city of Japan to daily.

The Gurugram, India-based airline said the increase of its flights from Delhi to Haneda to daily -  currently operating four-times weekly – will be effective June 15.

“Expanding our Delhi-Tokyo Haneda service to daily flights reflects Air India’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for travel between India and Japan,” said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India. “This daily service, combined with our deepened codeshare partnership with All Nippon Airways (ANA), makes it easier for our guests to explore Japan and connect conveniently to other destinations in the country beyond Tokyo.”

Upon arrival at Haneda, customers can make onward connections with ANA to six cities within Japan – Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Okinawa, Osaka, an Sapporo. In the opposite direction, customers can connect to cities in India including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune.

Air India currently uses Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft between Delhi and Haneda. As part of the expanded codeshare partnership between the Tokyo and Gurugam-based airlines, Air India recently moved its flights from Narita to Haneda on March 31.
